Introduction
As the long, lazy days of summer come to an end, I’d like to welcome you and your child back to school!!! I am hoping a minimum of 60 minutes of physical activity was part of the daily fun this summer. My goal as a Physical Education Instructor is to teach students the importance of being physically active, enjoying physical activity, preparing for the California physical fitness test, and acquiring necessary skills for safe engagement in a variety of activities throughout the year. The outlook for this year’s class includes an assortment of fitness-based traditional and non-traditional sports, games, and activities that meet the California State Physical Education Standards.
Our Physical Education Department’s objective is to provide a safe, challenging, and positive learning environment for the students. However, this requires students to take responsibility and engage in their own learning. In order to meet these goals students need to be prepared and present for full participation in class. In other words, students should be suited up and ready to work once they exit the locker room.
I feel these goals and objectives can be accomplished by working cooperatively, with peers, teachers, and most importantly…you the parent/guardian. I am looking forward to the start of a new and exciting school year, filled with outgoing individuals and memorable experiences.
Thank You,
M. A. Ojeda
